A woman donates a kidney to her husband. In her autobiographical novel, the author tells of the years-long struggle against the disease, of questionable healers and effective miracle cures, of disappointed hopes and unexpected successes, of shared work, lonely dog walks and a Bulgarian village. Reminiscing and associating, she explores how love and also she herself have changed in these ten years between fatalism, resignation and confidence.
