Zündel's exit

A vertical takeoff. Zündel, the hero, in his mid-thirties, married, feels within himself like a creeping infection the existence-destroying nature of daily life. One could rise up against catastrophes, but what helps against the small and even more brazen everyday attacks, against the composed robustness of the ordinary? When the summer holidays arrive and nothing holds him back, Zündel distances himself. An attempt to travel to Greece fails, and a renewed effort takes him as far as Genoa. What happens to him there is only amusing for the reader. Zündel no longer wants to continue and walks away.
