Zimmermann:Intervall und Zeit

"Intervall und Zeit" is a modified new edition of Bernd Alois Zimmermann's writings, which were published under the same name in 1974 and have long been out of print. The collection contains the most frequently quoted texts by the composer in Zimmermann's extensive oeuvre: self-reflections, thoughts on his own work and its references in older music, expositions of his much-discussed philosophy of time, reflections on film, ballet, jazz, and a Gesamtkunstwerk utopia beyond the soldiers, as well as newspaper essays and writings, heartfelt texts on the composer's own music and his own work, heartfelt polemics, and an extensive radio play about the agelessness of an epoch-spanning "Ars nova.".
