Product details
Travel differently and discover the extraordinary: With the latest tips from the Michael Müller travel guides, you can design your trip individually, sustainably, and safely.
Praised in the specialist press as "absolutely recommended" and "an indispensable travel guide," the "Zakynthos" guidebook by Antje and Gunther Schwab shines in its seventh edition from 2019 with 288 packed pages and 164 color photos. With 23 maps, including an overview map of the Greek island and Zakynthos town, you'll navigate as well as the locals. The authors have been exploring the island for over 20 years. Benefit from their well-researched information and the tips and recommendations they have tested on-site for you. Discover Zakynthos off the beaten path, such as the pitch wells of Herodotus. Ecologically, regionally, and sustainably operating businesses are highlighted.
The island at a glance: At the foothills of the mighty Kastró hill, Zakynthos town, Chóra, impresses with the architectural legacy of its former Venetian rulers. Not far away lies Kilioméno. The picturesque Skopós peninsula delights with Argássi and Cape Gérakas. The sea at the magnificent, elongated Banána Beach has an almost Caribbean flair. For those who enjoy being around people on vacation, the vibrant bay of Laganás is just right. It's more laid-back in nearby Kalamaki. Much quieter is the area around Limni Kerioú in the southern part of the bay. In the north, Katastári awaits exploration. To the east lies the flat, expansive lowland with olive groves, vineyards, orange, and lemon trees. In the hilly hinterland, tranquil farming villages await your visit. The east coast offers a number of charming, small bathing coves. From the south around Cape Kerí to the northwest, a rugged mountain range stretches across the island, from Cape Marathiá over Agalás to Cape Skinári.
