Stephen Sturgess lives in London and teaches yoga and meditation in the Kriya tradition. Since 1969, he has studied and practiced yoga and meditation alongside renowned gurus in India and the UK. In 1982, he became a student of Paramahansa Yogananda, and Swami Kriyananda, a personal disciple of Yogananda, introduced him to Kriya Yoga. In 2011, he was appointed a Kriya teacher by Roy Eugene Davis, also a student of Yogananda, and has since been authorized to teach Kriya Yoga meditation. Additionally, Stephen works as an artist and author.
