Yoga im Nationalsozialismus

The ethics of yoga and the ideology of National Socialism seem to exclude each other like light and darkness. However, the research findings presented here, mostly for the first time, show something different. They impressively document the role of yoga in National Socialism; both the mutual influences and the specific points of contact, as well as the contrasts, are examined. The following aspects are discussed, among others: Were there impulses for the National Socialist ideology from the spectrum of yoga and Indian philosophy before National Socialism? Is the swastika inspired by the Indian sun symbol (Swastika)? Was it possible to run a yoga school in the heart of the Reich capital? What actual adaptations and connections existed between yoga practice, yoga philosophy, and the ideology of National Socialism?.
