The Yearbook of the Swiss Society for the Study of the 18th Century is the only scientific publication in the world dedicated to the exploration of the Swiss Enlightenment. Through essays, reports, unpublished sources, and reviews, the journal provides a broad and multi-layered insight into the latest research. It is published annually, alternating between a thematic issue, which is overseen by a guest editor, and an open or free issue. The latter offers the opportunity to publish articles that illuminate the cultural, economic, social, and political life in Switzerland during the 18th century from various disciplinary perspectives. The publication languages are German, French, Italian, and English. Contributions undergo a double peer-review process and are managed by a multi-member editorial team that reflects both the interdisciplinarity of the journal and the linguistic diversity of Switzerland.
