HEROES FROM REAL LIFE BETWEEN 10-18 YEARS The revolution will be led by a 12-year-old girl. They stand up for education, health, equality and the environment; they stand up against violence, human trafficking and war. They put themselves in danger - and their courage and vision are contagious. In this book, girls from Africa, the USA, Mexico, Thailand, Sweden, Afghanistan and Germany, among others, have their say. The US photographer Paola Gianturco, together with her then 11-year-old granddaughter Alex, tracked them down and interviewed them. These are girls who take on government officials to resolve social conflicts, criminalize child marriages, strengthen girls' rights or draw attention to environmental issues. These girls not only take to the streets together, they write blogs and petitions, produce radio shows, and try to achieve their goals through social networks as well as joint actions on the ground. Many of these girls have been invisible for a long time, but they existed before the Swedish Greta Thunberg shook up an entire generation.
