Living is a reflection of social conditions. As a basis for social existence and an individual everyday experience, it stands in conflict with economic, political, and legal circumstances. The housing question – discussed for over 150 years – can be viewed from historical, sociological, feminist, and intersectional perspectives and embedded in social contexts. The guiding question of the authors is: How can the contradiction between living as a home and living as a property be resolved?
