Katharina Heyer had made a name for herself as a designer of fashionable accessories and built a successful business that took her around the world. She maintained a good relationship with her ex-husband, had two wonderful adult sons, and owned a house on the outskirts of Zurich. Katharina Heyer had everything one typically longs for. And yet, there was one strong desire: to break free from the hamster wheel she was stuck in. Having just turned 55, she was tired of jet-setting, tired of business pressure, and tired of her clients' expectations. From this feeling of confinement, she decided in 1997 to spend New Year's Eve not in Switzerland, but with friends in southern Spain. It was a fateful trip, as the few days in Tarifa were enough for her to discover something that would completely change her life.
