Product details
With a bit of imagination, one can find places and regions in Switzerland that can easily compete with Caribbean islands, American national parks, the Scottish Highlands, and other parts of the world. This inspired the idea for "A World Tour Through Switzerland." The first edition has since sold out. Now it is being released in a smaller, more manageable format. This is simply to ensure that we, now that travel is once again limitless, do not forget the small world at our doorstep. Switzerland is an incredibly diverse travel and vacation destination. Aside from the sea, it offers everything you can find elsewhere, but in a much smaller space and often of better quality. From the highest, almost Arctic Alpine peaks and their glaciers down to subtropical lakeshores lined with palm trees, many of which feature sandy beaches. From lonely high moors, extensive vineyards, vast pastures, rivers, and waterfalls to rugged and scarred, archaic landscapes. Not to mention the quaint farming villages, medieval towns, and large cities with an international flair and global reputation. To demonstrate that Switzerland has nothing to hide from any other tourist destination, this book draws sixty somewhat tongue-in-cheek comparisons: Saint-Tropez on Lake Zurich, the Seychelles in Vaud, Canada or Greenland in the Graubünden, Bernese, and Central Swiss mountains. Surprises are guaranteed.
