The Dictionary of Architecture provides explanations of terms and definitions from the specialized language of architects and art historians. It focuses on the most common historically rooted designations of buildings, building components, forms, ornaments, techniques, and materials from European architecture since antiquity. This richly illustrated reference work is supplemented by six sample descriptions of buildings or building components from different eras.
