Wissen und Verhalten von Frauen in Bezug auf Lebensmittelsicherheit

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the increase in foodborne diseases poses a public health problem in both industrialized and developing countries. The aim of the study was to assess knowledge and self-reported behavior regarding food safety among women of reproductive age. The study found a significant correlation between women's education and knowledge of food safety, as measured by the Phi test, Cramer's V test, Pearson's R, and Spearman correlation. Furthermore, a significant relationship was identified between women's education, women's occupation, monthly family income, and self-reported behavior regarding food safety, as determined by the Chi-square test for independence. Our findings confirm the need for ongoing educational initiatives to improve the relatively low awareness of food safety among women of reproductive age. The information obtained from this study can be used to formulate key messages for various educational programs.
