Wirtschaftliche Analyse von Molkereigenossenschaften und ihre Auswirkungen

This study, conducted in Nepal in 2009 to analyze the economic situation of dairy cooperatives and their impact on dairy farmers, showed that the cooperatives operating at various levels were profitable. The net capital ratio for small, medium, and large dairy farms was 1.432, 1.01, and 1.127, respectively; the solvency coefficient was 0.88, 0.98, and 0.70; and the turnover ratio was 10.2%, 3%, and 15.11%. The effects on associated farmer members with cooperatives of different sizes indicated that there were no significant impacts based on farm sizes. However, farmers associated with large cooperatives benefited from support services such as the procurement of feed, bran, etc., as credit. The gender distribution of dairy activities was comparable. It is suggested that the government should create a more favorable environment for the dairy sector, such as subsidies for the power supply to cooperatives, advisory services for farmers, and a review of milk prices. Similarly, dairy cooperatives should also offer more support services to their associated farmer members.
