Wirksamkeit des Paramyosin-Antigens für die Immundiagnose von Fascioliasis

Fascioliasis and other plant-transmitted trematode zoonoses are well-known helminth parasites in herbivorous animals, caused by two trematodes, F. hepatica and F. gigantica. This disease occurs in many regions. Fascioliasis reduces the production of meat, milk, and wool, in addition to losses from mortality, liver condemnation, and expenses for the use of anthelmintics. The fascioliasis known in Egypt since the time of the pharaohs can also affect donkeys and camels, as well as herbivorous animals, which can ultimately infect humans and lead to severe hepatopathic consequences. Fascioliasis can be distinguished from several other diseases such as acute hepatitis, schistosomiasis, visceral toxocariasis, and biliary tract diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate an early immunodiagnostic protocol for fascioliasis using a sandwich ELISA for the antigen. Additionally, the humoral and cellular immune response will be investigated.
