Excited and full of anticipation, we looked to the future back then! Join us in reminiscing about the first 18 years of life – your childhood and youth! Born in 1991, as children we especially loved celebrations, vacations, and spending free time with friends. In our youth, we discovered first love, engaged in endless debates with our parents, and immersed ourselves in celebrity culture, fashion trends, fun sports, cyberspace, and party culture. The events of September 11, 2001, and climate change filled us with fear. But we also witnessed the election of a pope and celebrated a summer fairy tale. We experienced the first female Chancellor of Germany and the first African American President of the United States, who proclaimed our life motto: Yes, we can!.
