Excited and full of anticipation, we looked into the future back then! Join us in reminiscing about the first 18 years of life - your childhood and youth! Being born in 1945 meant entering the world at ground zero. Germany lay in ruins after World War II, occupied by the victorious powers, and had to start its reconstruction from scratch. However, this turned into a remarkable success story that we experienced firsthand as children and teenagers. Our memories range from the material hardships of the post-war period to the blessings of the economic miracle, from trips to the countryside to the first long-distance travels to the holiday paradise of Italy.
