Product details

Anyone who has experienced one of his spectacular performances on stage or interventions in public spaces will not have forgotten it. Colorfully masked performers move through the city in a group and – at a secret command – stack and intertwine their bodies in doorways, on staircases, or on park benches, while the audience follows them in amazement. Artist and choreographer Willi Dorner founded his company in 1999 in Vienna: with his site-specific performances and interventions, photographs, and films, he enables a nuanced perception of our everyday life. This book provides a retrospective of his interdisciplinary work to date, both indoors and outdoors. Numerous images accompany Dorner's personal memories and complete the picture of his artistic endeavors offstage from the late 1990s to the present. An interesting insight into the making of the projects, experiences from his numerous travels, and a photo series on the theme of the city round out the portrait.
