The Bavarian Forest National Park - a model for successful nature conservation. The Bavarian Forest National Park is a global pioneer in successful nature conservation and serves as a model for the renewal of ecosystems. Here, without human influence, an extraordinary diversity of species has developed, making the forest a refuge for numerous endangered animals and plants. Many insights gained from decades of observation and research, such as the management of the bark beetle, the effects of windthrow areas, deadwood research, and visitor management, are now taken into account in national parks worldwide.
