In search of new Elysiums for wild swimming enthusiasts, experienced outdoor swimmer, water rescuer, mountain guide, and creative director Hansjörg Ransmayr has traveled through the land of the Hellenes over several years and seasons. The swimming journey spans from the majestic canyons of Northern Greece to the challenging waterfalls of Central Greece, and includes swimmable sea caves on the islands of the southern Aegean. Along the way, opportunities are described to warm up in wild thermal springs or to recharge for new adventures in recommended taverns. Whether at the picturesque historical arch bridges typical of Greece, at faunal spring pools, or in spectacular gorges, the variety of spots described here ranges from family-friendly to sporty.
