Wiederkunft und Heimsuchung

The central concern of this book is to examine the relationship between the appearance of Christ in the etheric and the culminating emergence of evil around the mid-20th century. Van Manen (1931-2009) proposes a previously underexplored interpretation of historical events. Using examples from literature and contemporary history, he presents forms of expression of evil, simultaneously writing a chronology of the forces directed against humanity, while also making a conceptual differentiation that, through a comparative view with corresponding statements by Rudolf Steiner, allows for a new inquiry into what Hannah Arendt said: 'This should never have happened.'.
