Only 20 out of 100 affected individuals survive. The chances of survival increase with the prompt initiation of high-quality first aid. This book clearly and understandably outlines the correct sequence of resuscitation measures for adults and children, as well as in special situations, such as choking hazards. With this guide, lives can be saved in emergencies through simple actions: calling for help, performing chest compressions, and using a defibrillator. The author and photographer also created an emotional and artistic appeal for first aid with this book. In a portrait series, he showcases people from various walks of life who share one thing in common – they all survived a cardiac arrest thanks to the intervention of bystanders. They were revived by courageous first responders.
