Author: Stefan Klein, born in 1965, is the most successful science writer in the German language. He studied physics and analytical philosophy in Munich, Grenoble, and Freiburg. He turned to writing because he wanted to inspire people for a reality that is more exciting than any thriller. His book "Die Glücksformel" (2002) was on all German bestseller lists for over a year and also made the author internationally famous. Other highly acclaimed bestsellers appeared in the following years: "Alles Zufall," "Zeit," "Da Vinci's Legacy," and "Der Sinn des Gebens," which was Science Book of the Year 2011. Most recently, he published "Träume: Eine Reise in unsere innere Wirklichkeit" (Dreams: A Journey into our Inner Reality), which was awarded the German Reading Prize in 2016, "Das All und das Nichts. Von der Schönheit des Universums" (2017), and "Wie wir die Welt verändern" (2021). Stefan Klein lives as a freelance writer in Berlin.
Illustrator: Stefanie Harjes, born in Bremen in 1967, studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and at the University of Applied Arts in Prague. She has illustrated 36 books and numerous anthologies to date, many of which have been published abroad, and has been working as an illustrator and book artist in her studio "Überm Wind" for 24 years, where she has also created a collection of artist's mugs and an animated film. Stefanie Harjes has received numerous prizes and awards for her work, including the Austrian State Prize for Illustration, the Special Prize of the Troisdorf Picture Book Prize, the Styrian Literature Prize, and the 2nd Prize of the Book Art Foundation. In 2010 and 2015, she was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. She teaches worldwide, runs workshops and seminars, and gives talks to children, young people, and adults. Her work is presented internationally in solo and group exhibitions.
