The purpose of this research is to describe changes in purchasing behavior influenced by macroeconomic environmental forces. The author examines how the purchasing behavior of dealers and customers has changed in the used car sector following the financial crisis. From the perspective of businesses and academia, it is interesting to investigate how purchasing behavior has evolved and which factors influence this change. The purchasing process is a complex matter, as many internal and external factors affect purchasing decisions. Environmental influences impact the strategies and purchasing behavior of companies. Understanding the external environment is the context in which a company operates. Each factor can affect the business, either positively or negatively, which is why companies develop plans and strategies to anticipate these effects as best as possible. Part of this work will identify and discuss the macroeconomic forces that influence the purchasing behavior of retailers and customers, and how they have altered their business strategies.
