Cristian Nani tells the story of Nasiry in this biography, which reads like an adventure novel. The shepherd boy is the son of a widow and belongs to the lowest class of society in rural Afghanistan. He narrowly survives an attack on his herd. A step on a landmine leaves him crippled.
Nasiry works as an interpreter in a clinic. There, he witnesses how doctors from the West selflessly help others, putting themselves in danger in the process. His faith in Allah is shaken, leading him to become interested in "the book" of the white men. What he reads there turns his life upside down.
He becomes a Christian and openly shares his new faith. This lands him in prison, where he even tells the Taliban about Jesus and becomes a missionary behind bars. A gripping, authentic account of the persecution of Christians in Afghanistan.
