Genograms help uncover such intergenerational connections. Created with standardized symbols, they capture understandable data and facts in a clear format.

On this basis, hypotheses regarding the emergence of a problem and connections within the system can be formed in a family biographical genogram analysis. These can be verified in subsequent system constellations and can serve as a starting point for possible solutions – even for seemingly therapy-resistant issues.

Unexplained physical or psychological symptoms, breakdowns in family relationships, problems in partnerships, with children, parents, or even at work can, for example, be linked to traumas or losses within the family system. Once recognized, they can then be addressed therapeutically in a targeted manner.
