Product details

The popularity of poetry remains unproven, but one thing is certain: It flourishes in the niches, even if this life in words hardly becomes public anymore. Diversity and confusion are not to be overlooked. But above all hovers the danger of remaining among oneself. In this situation, a critical self-parody seems appropriate. For example, in the interval between two genres that have been declared dead: the Western and poetry. For the dead live longer. In comic seriousness or serious comedy, the last heroes are quoted on the scene and pistols are loaded with words. What becomes readable is a poetics of bullet-writing that in many ways is about living and dying, about the powerful lure of the violence of writing as well as the longings of self-abrogation. But also about the necessity to wear blinkers from time to time in order to draw strength while being carried for a moment by the simplicity of song.
