Primary School Atlas Switzerland. The new 99-page Diercke Primary School Atlas is an educational resource tailored for the subject area of Nature, Human, Society. This resource is designed to promote geographic spatial understanding and orientation knowledge, regardless of the user's regional canton affiliation, although the entire content is presented in written German. Each double page of the atlas forms a self-contained unit and invites engagement with specific individual topics through its generous graphic design. The illustrative map, featuring a calm and child-friendly layout, is the focal point of consideration. It addresses central questions of the curriculum and develops orientation skills. A fundamental didactic goal of the Primary School Atlas is self-directed learning. Learners are encouraged to perceive the atlas not just as passive observers of the respective maps. Instead, they are motivated to make connections between these individual elements on the double pages through a combination of photographic images, visual objects, and graphics, allowing for clear recognition. Each double page includes a QR code and a web code, leading students to a separate website created specifically for the print product, where the individual topics and contents of the atlas are additionally presented in the form of interactive exercises and test or quiz questions.
