The history of German literature is the development, transformation, becoming, and being of the German people. Poetry and literature are the grand expressions of individuals who are gifted with the ability to bring forth a new form of life through words. Each year, many thousands of novels, novellas, plays, and poems accumulate, with a few hundred surviving over the years in the collective memory of people, and only a select few remaining as intellectual treasures for generations. Collection and examination typically occur according to stylistic concepts and 'movements.' Centuries are divided into peaks and troughs; analogies have introduced psychological formulas; history has been reconstructed by hindsight as a creative process of its time, with biological, evolutionary, and mechanistic determinations, as a consequence of consequence. This is the theme of intellectual education from the 18th century. Therefore, the author of the actual history of literature has provided an overview of the last five decades to clarify the contexts in which the creators lived. The face of these decades is a description and representation of the intellectual and material contents of the Germans, a rough outline of the political, scientific, religious, social, economic, and literary events that belong to a ten-year period, without being interpreted as complete with a specific year. Overall, the German literary historian Brand has categorized and classified literary creation from nearly forty years, providing information on countless titles. This is volume one of two.
