Wenn die Zelle zum Zimmer wird - Hafterleben von Mädchen

This book deals with experiencing and coping with imprisonment from the subjective viewpoint of young girls (14 to 21 years), as well as the factors that influence their everyday life. It can be assigned to the research-ethical approach of women's and gender studies. The data collected through narrative interviews and participant observation were evaluated using the Grounded Theory according to Glaser/ Strauss. The results of the study can be presented in 7 main influencing factors: Relationship to civil servants, relationship to fellow inmates, discharge, life in the system, work and employment opportunities in prison, mental and physical health, periods of imprisonment. The influencing factors can be assigned to social factors, structural factors, medical factors and a temporal influencing factor. It is a basic work for all disciplines in the field of prison health.
