The teaching resource "World History" summarizes historical events from 1500 to the present in a clear structure divided into nine thematic units. In addition to focusing on Swiss and European history, the resource covers global history and traces developments in society, economy, and culture. "World History" thus encompasses all subject areas for history lessons in secondary schools. Since its first edition in 1969, the resource has maintained distinctive features: it continues to provide reliably informative texts, organized in a modular structure, with many visualizations and largely without didactic guidance. The 23rd revised edition addresses new events such as the COVID-19 crisis, the power shift in Afghanistan, and the crisis in the Middle East, and it follows developments in individual countries with particular attention to China and Iran. A linguistic revision based on the readability index (LIX) ensures better text comprehension. Additional components include World History Volume 1. Free materials for classroom implementation: The website "History Helpline" for the teaching resource "World History" was completely revamped and optimized for mobile use at the end of 2015.
