The new edition of WELT DER ZAHL emphasises a clear structure and calm, clearly laid out pages. In addition to the colour coding of the content areas and special recurring pages (e.g. "Arithmetic Olympiads"), symbols make it easier to find your way around the textbook. The process-related competences to be acquired can be found in the table of contents. The task number directly indicates the requirements of the respective task. The WORLD OF NUMBERS offers suggestions and opportunities for individual independent work as well as for group and partner work in the sense of co-operative learning. The children are encouraged to go their own ways, to formulate these and to reflect on them together by means of learning opportunities rich in relationships ('tasks to discover'). Motivating task formats offer the possibility of natural differentiation with a gentle progression of difficulty. Numerous partner games encourage the children to communicate with each other and to practise and consolidate previously covered content in a playful way. Important content and terms are recorded on the pages in word memories, which combine technical language and basic concepts. The word memories help children to build up and gradually expand their technical language. The new edition also implements the idea of "learning through movement" in the form of motivating movement games. The focus here is on "learning in and through movement", in which movement promotes understanding of the subject matter. In addition to workbooks, support and challenge books developed to match the textbook, there is a wide range of other supplementary materials available, such as inclusion booklets, copy templates, etc., which have been extensively revised and adapted to the new edition. The newly developed "Annotated textbook for teachers" contains all the important information for lesson preparation and implementation in compact form on one page per textbook page. The new edition is rounded off by a rich digital offering, which includes explanatory films and videos on movement games, interactive exercises and the new BiBox for teachers. The textbooks also contain suggestions and offers for media education, for example for "offline coding" from Year 2 onwards.
