24 authors from VS Ostbayern have written varied stories about the winter and Christmas season, which, beyond kitsch and clichés, have been drawn directly from the environment of the people in the Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria. The volume "Weihnachtliches Ostbayern - winterliche Geschichten und himmlische Ereignisse" (Christmas in Eastern Bavaria - winter stories and heavenly events) collects contemplative, funny, profound, sad, critical, dangerous, hopeful - modern winter and Christmas stories. They do not all wait for the Christ Child or reflect on the events in Bethlehem's stable, but tell of the events and dramas surrounding the "festival of love". Wishes are not always granted, Father Christmases get tired and the Christ Child appears at an inopportune time, Christmas markets and reindeer get on our nerves, angels lose their wings and the internet moves into heaven ... Nevertheless, there is a hopeful light here and there! This extraordinary Christmas book with numerous illustrations continues the successful East Bavaria series of the Association of German Writers in East Bavaria (VS Ostbayern).
