Product details

Due to the increasingly strong mutual influences between the web and society, Tim Berners-Lee and Wendy Hall recognized the need to place the web itself at the center of research and created the Science of the Web. This web science is viewed by researchers in an interdisciplinary manner to illuminate the phenomenon of the web from various perspectives. The focus is on analyzing applications at the macro level, meaning how applications behave due to usage by millions of users and what sociodynamics arise as a result. This aims to help analyze why some websites are successful and to develop better applications. The University of Linz offers excellent opportunities for the interdisciplinary implementation of the study with its faculties and has experience in interdisciplinary studies. With the help of open, guideline-oriented expert interviews, fifteen experts from Johannes Kepler University Linz, the University of Art Linz, and the city of Linz were surveyed. The development and emphasis on unique selling points will be important for the successful implementation of the study.
