Product details
Today, users in a company must manage a variety of applications and their complex data. Many of these applications and systems lack standardized interfaces for data exchange, resulting in significant effort for manual conversion and maintenance of redundantly stored data. Service-oriented architecture (SOA) aims to solve these problems. As an abstract concept, SOA requires concrete technologies for implementation. This book demonstrates how the application of some SOA principles based on web services can be realized through the connection element management at Daimler AG. The goal is to provide the user with a unified view of the distributed process. The prototype developed integrates the connection element management process directly into the CAD tool CATIA. Furthermore, the foundations for distributed web service transactions are presented. The book is aimed at IT managers, business scientists, and students in these fields, offering insight into this complex topic.
