Lean organisational structures in the world of work require employees who think for themselves and help shape the processes of the working world. Vocational education and training is realising these requirements in a new model. In his book, Felix Rauner traces the foundations for the changed interplay between work, technology and education. He shows what influence the guiding principle of co-designing the world of work has on vocational training planning and research as well as on the design of vocational training processes. The new edition of his basic work from 2017 presents the latest research findings and insights from the changes in the world of work in recent years. A particular focus is on skills diagnostics using the COMET method. This also takes into account skills in the areas of sustainability, creativity and social compatibility, which are becoming increasingly important.
