Thus, the Apostolic Palace, St. Peter's Basilica, and the impressive square with its gardens were united into an extraordinary complex that became a place for religious ceremonies. This album is a wonderful illustration of the beauty and substance of the Baroque era, which left a vast number of exquisite mementos in the Vatican, crafted by brilliant artists who unleashed their creativity and freed themselves from the dependence on old masters.
