The PISA results show how justified the demand for better learning opportunities is, not only for the weaker students, but also for the more talented and higher-performing students. German students still perform significantly worse in the top group than students from countries that spend the same amount on education and have similar social conditions. Gifted children should receive all possible help from us, because they are, after all, our life insurance for the future. This justified concern for optimal support, even for the best, applies in principle to all types of schools and encompasses all age groups. However, it is not enough to find the right solution for each individual case. Support for gifted students should be seen primarily as a school development task and systemic solutions should be found.
