Erwin Schrödinger, born in 1887 in Vienna and died in 1961 in Vienna, was a professor of physics in Zurich, Berlin, Oxford, Graz, Dublin, and from 1956 in Vienna. His groundbreaking insights in the fields of wave mechanics, relativistic quantum theory, gravitational theory, and unified field theory were pivotal. For his contributions to quantum theory, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1933 along with Paul Dirac.
