Wart Castle is located on the southern slope of the Irchel in an extensive vineyard area. Its architecture is strikingly reminiscent of Neuschwanstein Castle, built by the Bavarian King Ludwig II. The Wart estate slumbered and faded into obscurity until numerous documents arrived in Neftenbach, revealing its history. The Neftenbach historian Eugen Ott reviewed and organized the purchase agreements, certificates, autobiographical records, and personal letters. This resulted in a detailed picture of the various estate owners, particularly the Winterthur family von Sulzer-Wart and their significance in politics, society, trade, and their international relations. The documents also express the human details, struggles and sufferings, joys, and celebrations.
