Forest pedagogy is a holistic approach to teaching and learning in the forest environment and is a valuable method for working with people of all ages. It is understood as forest-related environmental education within the framework of education for sustainable development and aims to achieve educational and developmental goals, for which it must demonstrate methods. To meet the professional demands of forest-related educational work, a solid pedagogical foundation is required. In this sense, this manual has been created. It aims to establish forest pedagogy as an educational concept and to provide necessary knowledge. In Volume 1, the theoretical part, the following chapters can be found: Forest and Society, Forest Pedagogy between Forest and Pedagogy, New Developments in Forest-Related Environmental Education, Pedagogical Concepts and Their Foundations, Target Groups, Didactics and Methodology, as well as a comprehensive list of literature.
