Wahrheit und Wissen

"What is truth?" - Pontius Pilate's question (John 18:38) is more relevant today than ever before: In more and more areas of the world, supposed truths are spread and enforced by means of violence rather than education. But the debate about knowledge and truth must not be left to religious fanatics. Universities are places of knowledge and of the intellect acting in the spirit of enlightenment. Are they therefore also places of truth, and if so, to what extent? What is truth from the point of view of different disciplines? The authors of the present volume - based, for example, in psychology, th eology, religious studies, art history, cultural and literary studies, (legal) medicine, and philosophy - address these questions.
