The current vocational education policy reflects trends of modernization and flexibility shaped by European political developments. The European Qualifications Framework and a European Credit Transfer System (ECVET) imply an increasing focus on outcomes and competencies, which presents new challenges for German vocational education. In this context, there is growing attention to the Anglo-Saxon model of vocational qualification, Competency-Based Training (CBT). Silke Hellwig conducts a systematic analysis of this CBT approach. She examines its regulatory-organizational and didactic-curricular frameworks, as well as the resulting impacts on the learning process level.
