Theatermanagement

The textbook "Theater Management" provides an introduction to theater operations, its structures and processes, as well as the essential foundations of management in the areas of finance, personnel, marketing and sales, planning, organization, and communication. Using case studies, current developments in the German theater landscape and their potential for reform are analyzed against the backdrop of changing conditions. The author assumes that the concept of management is fundamentally applicable to theater operations when a symbiosis between artistic and economically-organizational aspects is established. The main objective is to restore the future viability of individual theater operations as well as the German theater system as a whole through transformation processes.
