Sense of self and resistance

The first volume of the series "Education and Work," published by the Duisburg-Essen Institute for Vocational and Continuing Education, aims to contribute to the inquiry into the substance of "tacit competences" and to present perspectives that link the development of work capabilities to the subjective interests of the individuals involved in educational and work processes. Only through an understanding of the reductions and instrumentalizations of "competence development" could a perspective emerge that connects to the visions of humane work and education as the unfolding of personality.
