Product details

One can confidently say about Hillary Clinton's predecessor: she did not come from the political establishment. Rather, she came from the gutter: Victoria Woodhull's family was a wandering clan that made ends meet through quackery and sent its daughters into prostitution. The pretty young woman with a sharp mind capitalized on this herself. Soon, she became one of the most colorful figures in New York's red-light district. When a client revealed stock manipulations to her, she bought shares and became rich overnight. But Victoria wanted more: she became the first female broker on Wall Street. She was a socialist, feminist, publisher, and wrote about politics, sex, and free love. In 1872, Victoria Woodhull ran for the office of American president as the first woman - nearly fifty years before women gained the right to vote! She was indeed someone who believed that women should.
