Vorurteilsbewusste Veränderungen mit dem Anti-Bias-Ansatz

People can be discriminated against, for example, due to their origin, gender, disability, educational background, or age. The causes lie in personal or institutionally conditioned prejudices. The Anti-Bias approach (bias means prejudice or one-sidedness) aims to raise awareness of disadvantages that arise from biased perception and to bring them into balance. The demands for competent handling of social diversity have increased enormously in recent years. The Anti-Bias approach offers an alternative to familiar and normative patterns of thinking and action. This volume particularly aims to encourage people in the fields of social work and education to critically examine their everyday ways of thinking and acting. The contributions illuminate both the potentials and limitations of the approach from the perspective of different fields of practice and provide suggestions for one's own area of action and impact.
