Product details
Autism can be defined as a persistent deficit in communication and social interaction across various contexts, as well as restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and activities. Based on this, we aimed to evaluate the scientific literature on the benefits of early intervention in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). An integrative literature review was used as the research design, with the guiding question: "What are the benefits of using early intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder?" By applying the PICO strategy and utilizing keywords and descriptors, the databases Bireme, CINAHL, and PubMed were consulted. The studies addressed the effectiveness of early interventions in developing skills and alleviating symptoms related to the disorder, as well as the importance of parents and caregivers in implementing the interventions. Early interventions provide clinical and educational benefits; each intervention should stimulate a specific area affected by ASD, with this stimulation being enhanced as the child progresses in each skill.
