Von 2D zu 3D: Der Architekturfotograf Detlef Podehl

Photography is the transformation of three-dimensional spaces into two-dimensional images, a practice that Detlef Podehl has been engaged in for around four decades. His photographs are perfectly balanced compositions of surfaces and lines, in both color and black and white, always exhibiting the highest precision in execution and effect. This book presents two aspects of his work: on one hand, Detlef Podehl has been the in-house photographer for the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Dortmund since 1986; on the other hand, he has repeatedly artistically interpreted architecture in his independent works. Detlef Podehl reads architecture like a score and conducts it in the image like a conductor, establishing himself as an artist in the medium of photography.
