Vom Kindergarten bis zur Hochschule

This book examines the emergence of social and ethnic inequality at various stages of the educational career. Covering the entire educational biography from kindergarten to higher education, it addresses not only the classic transitions within the education system but also educational careers that do not follow the typical path (e.g., obtaining educational qualifications later on). Current findings from research projects at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim are presented, focusing on specific questions in educational research, some of which have involved the collection of original primary data for these purposes. The projects provide a detailed insight into the entire educational journey of children and adolescents from different social and ethnic groups.
